When I Started:
Nov, 2007
How I Started:
I started after the birth of my son in October 2007, but got away from it. I joined a gym last week, and am determined to stick to it this time! My son is beginning to be mobile, and I know that I'm going to have a hard time keeping up with him if I don't get in better shape. Plus, I've started to realize that I need to be around on this earth for many many many many years to come, and I need a more healthy lifestyle to accomplish that!
Why I Love It:
Going to work out provides me with an hour and a half of time to myself. The other 22.5 hours in the day I spend taking care of my 6mo little boy. I love him dearly, but it's nice to get a break. Also, I'm already noticing that I'm sleeping better, and I feel better overall...and it's only been 3 days since I've been back in the gym! I love that!
How I Stay Motivated:
My husband (michaeljazz) motivates me everyday to be the best that I can be. He taught me that I can work to improve my body, while loving my body at the same time! I don't have to dislike what I currently have, in order to motivate myself to do better. I love my curves! His never-ending encouragement, compliments, and affirmations have helped me to blossom into a (near)completely confident woman over the two wonderful years we've been together. He truly motivates me, and says that I motivate him! :)

What is your favorite cardiovascular exercise? Why?
The elliptical or this other machine that I don't know what the name of it is. It's got the motion of a stair stepper, but it's a fluid motion. I don't know what it is, but it's awesome.

What is your cardio exercise plan?
I try to do at least 20 minutes, but I prefer 30 each time I go to the gym.
Evan is quickly approaching 7 months old now, and I've rededicated myself to my workout efforts. I slacked off majorly. Trying to take care of a new baby, and then trying to move with a baby...it was too much to handle all at once. But, we're moved, and we're settled, and I'm slowly...
I currently work out at HealthTrax in Raleigh NC. I do their Express Circuit every other day, which consists of 9 machines. Three for arms, three for legs, 2 for abs/back. I do anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour of cardio, usually on the elliptical. I do plan on changing things up, and I...
Hey amberjazz...just checking in on you. Haven't seen anything from you in a minute. I hope you're still checking the site and keeping your goals on your mind and in your sights.
Just wondering where you're at these days, and if you're still working out. I've just re-emerged after a 13 week hiatus (yuck, and I have the pounds to prove it). Hope you, Evan and Mike are happy and healthy this winter!
Hope your happy and Happy Holiday, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Almost home here, just not in time for the Holidays, but 2008 is going to a whole new year for me and the family!
