I was very over-weight and unhappy. Other than school I had probably never worked out. I had a gig working at the mall for about 3 years and while I was there I gained about 50 lbs. Eventually I quit and around that time I also became a vegetarian. The weight started dropping off without notice and when I started receiving compliments I became very conscious. I started paying attention to what I was eating and joined a gym.
Why I Love It:
I don't feel guilty like I used to. I stopped feeling sorry for myself. I like the feeling of being healthier. It relieves my stress. It makes me strive hard for the things I want.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by knowing that I don't have to please anyone but myself. I stopped relying on other people to make me feel good about myself. I don't need others to convince me who I am and who I want to be.
BB Accomplishments:
I have muscles! LOL, I don't think I've ever had any of those before.
Of course at this point in my life I didn't take many pix, but u can see in my cheeks I was quite a bit chub. I stopped weighing in after I hit 180 lbs. EW!
DAYUM! Don't know if I went up or down. Same weight (I think) but prolly moved up!! Son of a bych!
My fitness goal is to lose 40 lbs. of fat within one year and gain some muscle.
Goal (Long):
In 2006, I accidentally dropped 30 lbs. I didn't even realize how over-weight I was until I lost it. When I became aware of my unhealthy behaviors, I decided to start working out. I dropped another 15 lbs to put me at 130 lbs in 2007. I abruptly stopped going to the gym and find myself back up here at 150 lbs. I want to learn as much as I can about training and nutrition so that I can get healthy and STAY healthy.
I want to get down to the ideal weight for my height and frame. I would also like to get down to about 10-13% body fat. I want to be toned all over. I plan on going a good school for personal training and possibly expand my studying from there to sports fitness and nutrition. I would also like to finish a marathon.
I haven't been focused. I had totally abandoned my fitness regimen for the last year, but I'm back! I can't wait to start tracking progress here. I started yesterday with an assessment by a trainer at my gym. I want results!
Throw away the damn scale. You'll get plenty of support here. The more you read about it, the more you'll want it. Journalling is hard but helps big time. Play safe. Del
