When I Started:
How I Started:
Working out with my brother when i was 14. I was skinny and he always had me spot him while he was lifting. I got hooked and it became a way of life.
Why I Love It:
Keeps me in shape and healthy even at 43. Relieves stress and relaxes me. Eventually age will win but I will put up a fight until it does.
How I Stay Motivated:
The whole gym atmosphere motivates me. Get yourself a good workout partner to push you and you'll do twice as much. I love all the energy and hardwork that goes on in the gym.
Workout 5-6 days per week. Only work one body part per workout. Heavy weight no more than 8-10 reps. Usually 6-7 exercises per body part, 3-4 sets per excercise.
thanks for the comment, hows everything on your end? gained/lost any weight? I'm working hard trying to put on mass, and then will work with a trainer to try and cut down (thinking about doing a natural show)
Hey bro, hows the holidays going? I was able to gain about 8 lbs in the past 3 months...not much but something. Hope you stay focused during the holidays, its most difficult then!
CONFIDENCE? Dude -- with THAT physique I would have though being confident enough to compete would have just been part of the package! LOL! Coached a LOT of shy people, and afetrwards most report that competing iss NOT AT ALL the same as "performing" ort bing in a spotlight. When done WELL, you are so focused on your WORK, no TIME to feel self conscious. You are there . . . maybe it is time to BEAT YOUR DEMONS . . . hit me up if you ever want to discuss.
THANKS for the cool comments! MUCH appreciated! You look pretty intense there yourself. Curious as to why you picked Dec. 7 for your goal . . . that's my dad's birthday (among other holidays...!). Also, be sure to check out my blog if you get a chance (http://blog.bodybuilding.com/ The_Real_XN). Most folks say THAt is where the impressive stuff is -- as opposed to my body! Thanks again!
Thanks man. I am an example of a good diet. I don't train any harder or different than the next guy. I didn't see the results I have been looking for for quite sometime until I cleaned my diet up. Once I was eating correctly everything fell into place. My best advice.
