In this fast paced life, we sometimes just have to accept that responsibilities prioritize time, and make room to workout whenever we can. This is why I'm all about smart work. Compound lifts such as squats, deadlifts, bench press, row, shoulder press, and lat pull make up the meat and potatoes of exercise. Multiple muscle groups are being worked, and if taken to failure, you know your job is done. The extra isolation exercises just help correct lagging body parts and give extra attention to those underperforming muscles. Remember, you can't scuplt a pebble! So stick to the meat and potatoes before trying to spice things up with some crazy exercise that some fitness mag said would give you massive delts, killer quads, or whatever...
