When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
Well, I used to work out a LOT just after High School. I've since fallen way out of practice and want to pick it up again, for myself and my future with my wife and son.
Why I Love It:
I LOVE making progress, it's such a rush. I love feeling the differences in my body from week to week. I love the feeling after a workout and even the soreness days after. I just love everything about it, I don't know why I let myself stop for six years.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look at pictures of bodies I want to look like. I look at myself in the mirror and think, "Ok, we're making progress and improving." (Sometimes I have to lie to myself if I can't tell so I'll feel more motivated to make "More" progress.)
BB Accomplishments:
I've lost 70 pounds before. I think that's an accomplishment.

To heck with my long-term goals. My goal is simply to start making fitness a priority and start getting healthier.
Goal (Long):
I know a LOT about physical fitness, nutrition and exercise. Unfortunately, until now, I've simply been too lazy to put my knowledge to use to rebuild the body I know I have under all of this fat. I haven't worked out in years and have allowed myself to get up to 340 pounds, OUCH! I have a fat-free mass of 195 and a large frame to work with.
It's safe to say last year my level of commitment was pretty low. Well, maybe not my level of commitment but by drive and ambition, ok... my level of commitment. Things have taken an unexpected turn in the beginning of 09 with my father's second heart attack at the age of 52. He's always...
My workout program is geared towards being a student and a Dad who takes care of his son when mommy works. I do 8 min Abs every single day, even when I don't do a weight routine for abs that day, or even if I did the day before and I'm sore. It's a great basic core workout and takes no time...
Hey Adam, how is the weight loss coming? 1/3 way of the way to reaching your goal yet? Good luck! I know it must be hard; gaining for me seems almost as hard.
Sorry about that grief you've been getting. A body transformation is extremely hard for anyone, so I believe that encouragement provides much more incentive to reach goals than negativity. Good luck!
I am happy to hear you are following BFL. I am proud to say that I was judged 10th overall in the 2007 Canadian BFL Challenge and believe strongly in their program.
Take smaller steps - By taking smaller steps towards a larger goal, you are able to experience success much more quickly... and much more often. So instead of telling yourself you're going to lose 100 pounds within the year - try telling yourself you're going to 1 pound this week. Then do it.
I suggest checking out Body for Life and seeing what you think of their body transformation program. I lost over 50 lb’s in only 12 weeks by following it. The main thing is to eat 5 or 6 small, clean, healthy meals a day, work out with weights 3-4 times a week and do cardio at least 3 times a week. I wish you much success with whatever program you choose and look forward to watching your progress.
I'm not following any strict diet. Just took an EC stack for about a month and ate about 2000 clean calories a day. I took out all sugar, all alcohol, everything bad. I also lift heavy weights for 45mins 6days a week with very little rest between sets, then go for 30-40 mins of cardio. All these things combined mean insane fat loss, at least for me. You might want to find out your maintenance calories and eat 500 or so below that so you don't destory your muscle.
Good luck man.
