I visited a gym with one of my co-workers just to pass the time. I then realized that it was actually fun and not only passed the time...but it was worth my time. It was fun to hang out with my friends and just do whatever weight I thought was best. I didn't actually start taking it seriously until September of 2007 when I started creating spreadsheets and began recording my progress.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because it is something that has been consistent in my life. Getting that extra rep, minute, or higher level of resistance is what its all about. Always doing better than what I did last week makes everyday worth while. Just knowing that everyday you go into the gym is harder than last week makes it truely a great challenge for me.
How I Stay Motivated:
I mix up my workouts every few weeks. I am also constantly changing what days I exercise each of the muscle groups to keep my body guessing. Remember that pair of jeans you bought that you can slide off without unbuttoning them first? Yeah if thats not motivation I don't know what is. I used to be a large 250 lbs and now I can fit into size 31 jeans!
BB Accomplishments:
When I first started I could barely bench press 135lbs with help. Now I have risen to 205lbs whch is quite a jump in the little time I have been doing this.
