Well, I started running in November of 2006 when I left my ex and developed a love for fitness. I soon discovered the importance of weight training along with proper amounts of cardio and soon after discovered the importance of a balanced diet to support exercise. Now I have a passion to help others achieve the same goals I have and to continue on my path towards fitness.
Why I Love It:
Because our bodies are important. We only get one to get through life with so we need to take care of it. I believe a fit, healthy body is an absolutely beautiful thing. I also want to be 70 years old and able to play hide and seek with my children.
How I Stay Motivated:
I just keep looking ahead to what it means for me as an individual. Staying fit and healthy means a longer life with my family and future children and spouse. I also know it puts me at a declined risk for diseases which is definately a plus. Also, I'm a very competitive person by nature so having a goal like competiting keeps me in the gym. If you don't have any goals you'll never succeed. That's why I modify my routine with short-term goals that are achieveable and then progress to a new one. I just love it!
BB Accomplishments:
Stronger core and overall balance. I used to dance and do gymnastics long ago and missed being able to do a pirouette. Size, I'm bigger but not too big...it's good.

Won third place in the MISS USC Competition and am going to do the SC State Bodybuilding Fitness Comp is the Spring
Goal (Long):
The Miss USC competition is a figure competition which I placed third in. Not bad for my first ever. Now on to bigger and better. Excalibur August 23rd. I have a lot of training to do! All my life I've been interested in dancing and I took ballet for two years and gymnastics for 7. I was 2nd in my state when I was 11 years old in Louisiana then two years later had to quit due to finances and school. I went to a bodybuilding competition in May and saw the fitness competitors and gave me a new reason to work out. I believe I have the personality and drive to succeed. My goals are to at least place in the top 10 if not top 5 in the May competition but, if I don't it's ok. There's always next year!
So, here I am. The night of my first figure competition. The Mr. and Miss USC competition. I hope by 9 pm tonight to be announced first place...at least 3rd would work for me. I've been training since July, cut my water, dieted, lifted heavy and am soooo ready to put on my suit, heels and...
Hi ashley, read your profile. Just found it interesting that both you and I got into fitness seriously after we left our ex's. You've definitely proved something! I admire you ; )
5 more lbs is a lot...I remember seeing the ads for that comp when I worked out at blatt (what little I did in college) and I thought that I would never be able to be in that, so that's cool that you are going to be in it
Wow, great profile, and the compliment on your butt, glad that made your feel good. A girl that enjoys squats, and knows how to really do squats to allow a performance and muscle increase is hard to come by. Those pics are hot! Though, You could use a 5lbs gain.
I just dropped by to wish you much success in achieving all your goals. Push yourself to be the best that you can be and the results will be well worth the effort. I look forward to watching your continuing progress. Keep reaching for the higher branches.
