When I Started:
Nov, 2008
How I Started:
I got tired of the lines at the overly crowded 24 Hour Fitness after work. This led me to quit working out entirely. After a two year hiatus, I got tired of the weight gain and decided to return. This time I went with a smaller gym that has a smaller crowd.
Why I Love It:
The ego-boost, feeling the strength and stamina gains, improved confidence, etc.
How I Stay Motivated:
Concentrating on and fantasizing about my goals. I'll do this a couple ways. The first is directly fantasize about my goal. What I would look like, how I would feel, that idea that I'd finally be the guy getting checked out by females, that sort of stuff. The second way is I read men's fitness magazines and watch the strongman competitions (or something similar). It's amazing watching what these people are capable of and look like then to think that I could possibly do that at some point.

Goal (Long):
In elementary school I was always the runt then somewhere between middle school and high school I became the fat kid. I've never been fit, full of energy, or athletic. This changed when I started weight training late in high school but have never had the time or money to truly invest myself into body building. Hopefully now, I can change all that. I'd like to drop to the 210-220 range and build some muscle.

The first two weeks after starting cutting, I dropped 8lbs and an inch off my waist. My son's birthday came up, didn't have much of a choice on when to eat and tried to eat the best I could (burger, no bun, potatoes). I lost the day after his birthday as well from the cleanup and such....
This is my HIT routine. It gives me a little more power to adjust how often I'm hitting certain parts of my body. My legs already have a lot of power so I want to work on my chest and back more. This allows me to hit those areas three times a week and the rest once.
Always glad to meet another fan of strongman!!! I have a quote I wrote a while ago, because alot of the people I train start off where you do. "The strength of a man is not judged by where he starts, but by where he ends." Keep your head in the game and let nothing stop you, and you will go far!
