How I Started:
I've always remained active for the most part, throughout my life. I was introduced to sports when I was 10 and I guess the thrill just kinda stuck w/ me. I started distance running back in Nov of 07, didn't want to look like a skeleton and I wanted to add strength for speed...so I started incorporating light weights into my routine.
Why I Love It:
Keeps the mind clear/balanced, love the challenge, and I like to see the transformations your body can do for you when you treat it right.
How I Stay Motivated:
I always set new goals once the others have been satisfied. Watching others achieve their goals. My music. Reading health/fitness success stories. Sticking to my routine.

What is your cardio exercise plan?
I run anywhere between 3 and 5 miles atleast 5 dys a week, then 1 day is long distance...between 10 and 13 miles. I just finished my first half-marathon, I want to gain speed. I would like to complete my first FULL marathon this year. i did start adding sprints two or three times a week (well on the eliptical not the treadmill) when i was getting ready for the wedding. i feel exhausted afterwards, but i'm not sure i see a difference from them. i think it's hard to tell what is working and isn't right now because i'm breast feeding and i feel like my body is doing things a little differently than it did before my little boy. some good and some bad!
thank you so much for that tip. that is the 2nd time i heard that deadlifts were key and i didn't believe it the 1st time... figured that girl was just lucky... but hearing it from 2 nice hinies... looks like dead lifts for me! i admit to having not done many of them. i think i get too focused on squats/presses and i don't do anything else consistently (i change weekly so i don't really do anything regularly though) i'm ganna try them for a few weeks and see how it goes.
Yes, if I feel I need something more before bed, I make it a protein shake. That seems to work well for me. Your are very welcome. I can tell you have worked hard. I want your legs!

Oh thank you. I added a spin class 1-2 days a week...and I am loving it! Do you do your cardio in the am on an empty stomach? I am playing around with the idea and don't want to lose muscle! How has your summer been?
