I started working out right before I got deployed to Iraq. I got in great shape during my deployment, but got off track when I returned home. I have been on and off again for the past several years, but starting in June of 2009 I am back on and more consistent then ever.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel good about myself and allows my brain to relax after a stressful day.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing the changes in my body, getting encouragement from friends and most of all having several workout partners so that at least once or twice a week I have some competition.

This was actually a couple years ago, but I didn't take any before pics. It is a good representation of what I looked like on June 1st, 2009, maybe a little smaller.
Beginning of the New Year, 7 months into training. I have been sick twice in the past two months and the holidays cut into my training as well, but I have not lost too much since October. Working on my diet to start seeing my abs from under those nasty layers of fat!

I wanna gain muscle, get stronger, move faster, improve my endurance and improve my flexibility. Basically I want everything at once!
Goal (Long):
I have several long term goals that i am working towards constantly.
1. Keep my muscular endurance and cardiovascular endurance up for my Army PT tests.
2. Constantly improve my endurance for my fencing competitions.
3. Improve my body in every way possible!
So my resolution is to bring to my diet this year what I brought to my workouts last year. I have always had difficulties with eating healthy. I started this diet three days ago and have not swayed from it yet, which is honestly a record.
so, i had 40 minutes to fit in an HIIT session and my weights...i did it! my head was pulsing "whoosh, whoosh" by the end though...i think i barely escaped passing out! lol. that'll teach me to turn my alarm clock off....
Really, that's awesome man! I bet you had a good time. Now you should compete in the bodybuilding there! haha. Yeah, I'll be going with my trainer, I love the expo and the show! You going this year?
You should really consider a show man, confidence comes with just getting up there and doing it. Then it would become easier I think. Cool, fencing sounds awesome man. Have you ever been to the Arnold in C-Bus? They do fencing there too I think?
Cool, cool. My trainer's up in Cincy, well actually Ft. Thomas, KY. He's helped me a lot. Yea, cutting is going to be tough for me, hope I can make my goals. Have you competed before?
That's a good routine. I'm cutting now, so I'm 5 days and going lower weights higher reps to get a little more ripped up if I can. What part of OH you in?
Wow, thanks bro, that's pretty awesome to hear I'm inspiring, esp today, New Year's Day! I appreciate that. You've made some awesome progress too man, great job! What's your secret to success? yea, my gym is open today, so i'm heading there now to get a workout it. I figure if i go today, then I'll be going all year long! =)
Thanks for the blog comment! I help to know that I have support from my bodyspace friends. My family(aside from my husband) and friends don't understand this life style. So It's great to have people like you! I hope your having a great week!
It sure is hard. I got myself in a slump but will pick myself up out of it!! I don't get any support at home, so it's nice to chat to people here. Everyone's been fantastic!! I think it would help me too if I had someone to work out with!!!! Good luck to ya!!!!
