After having my second daughter, I suffered from postpartum depression and my extra baby-weight wasn't helping. I was placed on medication that made matters worse. I developed postpartum psychosis and slid into a black hole of drinking and despair. After 18 months of not having her mommy around, my oldest daughter asked me to do mommy-daughter yoga with her to try to help cheer me up. I then started doing power yoga and became addicted. Then came pilates. Once again I became addicted. I then added resistance training, weight lifting and cycling. With all the new exercise and positive changes in my life, including eating clean, I was able to come off the medication, stop drinking, and improve both my health and appearance. Now I run a postpartum recovery blog www.redheadlaw7.com and have become a personal trainer and owner of Fit Resolutions, LLC. I have given up the practice of law so I can dedicate my life to paying all of my health and happiness forward all while competing as a nationally qualified NPC competitor and being a wife and mom to two gorgeous daughters.
I love how I feel and look and I love when people ask me..."How did you do it?!"
I have never felt more alive then when taking the fitness stage. Having definable and measurable goals in my life gives me a great reason to hop out of bed, excited to see what I can accomplish next.
