I started out working with a trainer at an outdoor bootcamp once a week. While I was seeing changes in my endurance and strength, I wasn't really following any type of meal plan or doing much outside of the 1 workout a week. I was maintaining and not making any progress. So, in October of 2010, I joined a gym and started taking a spin class 3x a week and had a friend introduce me to the 'man room' because I wanted to start lifting weights. I met some great friends and became part of a local group of gals (Bicep Betties) who are just a fantastic support group of women and like to have fun too! In September of 2011, I really started becoming interested on focusing more on gaining lean muscle mass and really want to see some growth there. In high-school, I was definitely skinny/fat. Now, I want to be strong! So far, I am down 20 lbs from my initial start in October 2010 and hope to keep working at burning off the fat and growing some muscle!
I love the challenge, I love the friendships, I love the support, I love the motivation, I love the time with my husband in the gym, I love how much better I feel.
