I was always an active person, sports year-round in high school, a few seasons of Junior College Basketball, but I never really spent too much time in a weight room.
During college I really packed on the pounds due to the typical college mentality (beer, party, more beer) and when all was said and done I maxed out at around 275 lbs! Now 'm 6'4 so that kind of weight can be somewhat concealed by over-sized clothing and a dash of denial. I felt and looked like crap
So one day my mom talked me into doing Atkins and over a 6 moth period I managed to drop about 30 lbs. I was motivated by the weight loss so I started doing small workout sets in my room with a dumb-bell set I got at Wal-Mart. Then I joined a real gym and worked even harder, getting down to a health 215 lbs.
But......
After my first child was born life changed. Over the course of the next 2 years I again managed to slip (an understatement) and weighed in at a robust 265!! I bounced around 260 - 250 until December of 2010, when I really started to educate myself on nutrition. I have been back on the good path eating clean and back in the gym 5 days a week.
