I have been active for as long as I can remember. I started ballet, jazz, tap dancing, and softball at age 4, which went on to gymnastics, soccer, softball, track, and cheerleading throughout school. I started lifting in junior high for softball, but it didn't become a passion until I was 16 thanks to my pastor - who used to be a professional body builder and opened the first Gold's Gym in Colulmbus, Ohio. I don't train with him any more, but he taught me more than I can express. When someone pushes you to crying and puking in the gym, you learn how to push yourself in all areas of life.
Every day when I wake up I notice something different about my body. Working out is a constant experiment with yourself, physically and mentally. It isn't about looking good for others - it's about obtaining self-worth and confidence that shows in and outside of the gym.
