I began playing at an early age, and played volleyball, basketball and track in high school. Even though I love playing in all sports, my heart leaned more towards volleyball. I earned a full ride volleyball scholarship to the University of Massachusetts â Amherst. My senior year I earned the âAtlantic 10 Player of the Yearâ.
In January 2001, I was introduced to Gwen Malone who was a competitive bodybuilder. In April I competed in my very first Figure show in LA, and won! I continued to train with Gwen and compete in multiple competitions until 2004.
After distancing my self from the competitive world and going through many transitions in my life, I am now back on track and have fallen in love with the Tri Fitness Challenges which offers a new variety of fitness challenges and allows my natural competitor to emerge and retain an athletic lifestyle.
As I have gotten older, I realized that not working out is not an option! I love food way too much and my super fast metabolism, which I once hated growing up, was not so fast any moreâ¦..
The process of getting back in shape is a hard one, but once you get over that initial hump, itâs all good! I constantly remind myself that I would never go to the dark side again! Keeping in shape, is much easier than not being in shape. Working out had become my zest in life. I am a driven by competition and success, and I am always inspiring to be better in every aspect of my life, from career to my workouts!
