I am a collegiate athlete, so working out and staying fit has never been a problem for me. However, since being in college I have gained 20 pounds (not good weight). This weight gain doesn't seem like too too much, but caused me to go into a depression and I've been struggling with it since. This summer I focused on losing the freshmen weight. I ran ever single day and sometimes twice a day. I entered a 5k race and ran in a time of 19:20. I ended up losing 11 pounds, but it was short lived when I went back to college. I stopped running, and had to focus on drills and plays for soccer. (you'd think a soccer player wouldn't gain weight, but i swear i have a food addiction or something!) But anyways...i haven't been able to work out in 4 months because i tore my acl in the middle of my soccer season and had reconstruction on that. and 3 weeks ago i had back surgery to shave off a rather large herniated disk that was keeping me from being able to sit at all. Jan. 28th is the day i get to start light lifting and i can't wait! I will be back to making my knee stronger, so that I can go back to what I really love doing: running and working out!
