I worked hard to lose a significant amount of weight. I started with running, even though I couldn't run more than 30 seconds at a time. Over the course of a year, I kept at and completed numerous 5k and 10k races. I was finally able to achieve my goal of running a half marathon. I've now run several of them. I needed to set new goals to keep myself motivated. And now I'm working on losing fat and gaining muscle.
I've always done cardio to lose weight with limited strength training. A friend convinced me to join her at a CrossFit box and I loved lifting. Even though my crazy, random schedule with a full time job, hectic commuting, school, meal planning and prepping, and spending time with my loving husband, I'm not able to participate in CrossFit. I've slowly built up a decent garage gym and love the time I spend out there working to improve myself.
