Joe Weider's magazines and having sand kicked in my face by Charles Atlas. Arnold of course was my hero and my motivation for working out. The picture can be found in Pumping Iron the book with two old ladies are in awe as Arnold flexes his bicep for them. I knew then I was going to be bodybuilder. However I was under illusion I could get that large without the use of drugs. Although I dabbled in steroids in the 80 for not quite a year I took deca (10 single Shots) and test (500 mil) in one year. I didn't like it at all. It made me sick, bloated and very irritable. Its not worth it to me unless I was to destined for greatness as a professional bodybuilder. That wasn't likely to happen.I formed my own workouts and a schedule my body could handle from then on I have taken the natural approach for over 30 years.
Relieves my aggression and anxiety. I live for the pump. The blood surging through my muscles, skin stretching. The feeling your going to explode. Awesome, why wouldn't anyone not want to work out. Not to mention you can change your body to look like how you want. I truly believe and you can see you don't have to spend hours in the gym. Today I just maintain and lift heavy when I feel strong. I use moderately heavy weights and superset my exercises, changing them every workout using fairly high reps. When your cut you look bigger than you are. Its an illusion, but you look great vascular, big, and feel great.
