It all began with a desire to learn how to achieve power and strength for Martial Arts over a decade ago. I wanted to build lean muscle and at the time learned from others at the gym and researched books and followed athletes advice. Several years later with lots of hard work in the gym, I decided to push myself even harder. I had about 30 pounds of fat to lose and I committed myself to doing my first figure competition. I knew I would take my goal seriously knowing I would be on stage in a very small figure suit. As you may relate, I really had no clue about diet. I understood what was healthy but did not know how to put it all together. I researched many diet tips and eating plans and still had no luck losing the weight. Beware, there is so much junk out there when it comes to weight loss! I did what I thought was best and hired a personal trainer (now my husband and bada** workout partner!) Over the course of 4 months, I was able to lose the 30 pounds and remain at a body fat percentage of around 11% off competition season. Most of all, I gained much insight into health and fitness and have learned it is a lifestyle. It is all about balance in all things!
There is nothing else in this world that makes you feel so empowered than setting out fitness goals and accomplishing them! It is a combination of mind, body, spirit on a whole. I have always been aware of my goals and have learned so much about myself in the process that I want to share what I have learned with those that have not had a glimpse of what I'm talking about so that they may grow and find the inner strength that we all possess when we put our mind to something. By doing this, it opens our minds to the limitless possibities in this world!!!
