I started to surf and realised how weak my shoulders and upper body had become. A year earlier I had suffered a traffic accident (knocked off my motorbike by an idiot car driver) and badly broke my collar bone, needing an operation and a couple of titanium plates. A year of recovery had left me weak and flabby. I started at the gym to recover some strength and prepare me for next summers surfing but it seems to have become an end in itself. My goal now is to have the body I've always dreamed of: Athletic, great all around proportions, tight stomach, full arms and firm full chest.
I love working out because it makes me feel young and healthy. Most guys my age have already given up the fight. Not me! I intend to look better at 55 than I did at 25. I aim to do it naturally, no drugs, basic food supplements only. I take to heart the saying "live until you die". I also love the feeling that I can shape my body by determined, consistent, intelligent effort. Now it just remains to do the work.
