When I went off to college I had no intentions of working out. I hated it actually. I did it for a little bit back when I was 16 and did not like it at all, at least so I thought. During freshmen orientation I met a guy by the name of Kieth. During that first week we became pretty good friends. This new friend of mine really loved going to the gym all the time, he used to weigh over 300lbs now he was down to 215 at the time. He convinced me one day to go with him. So I went. Little did I know that day would be a major turning point in my life, cause after that one trip to the gym, watching my friend doing big lifts would inspire me to do the same.
I love working out because of the confidence it gives you. Before I started working out I was not really self confident with myself. I was really skinny and looked like a big nerd with glasses and all. If that was not enough I did play video games all the time. After hitting the gym for an extended period of the time I started to feel a lot more confident with myself. I got better at sports and my coordination improved by a lot as well. Also my appearance changed, and with that my confidence about me changed as well. I no longer viewed myself as a boy who will never achieve much of anything at all but now as a man eager to take on whatever challenges come my way! Another reason I love working is how makes you feel better physically. Before I workout I felt like an old man. My knees would crack a lot and my elbows and shoulders did as well, all the time. I could not throw a any type of ball without it a joint hurting. But now that has gone away and it makes me feel so much better and more alive. I cant get enough of sports anymore!
