I wanted to get my life back. I was sick and tired of the pathetic excuses and and lack of motivation. I just decided one day that I had enough, I not only went through the motions of exercise but I studied the science behind diet and exercise. As I began my journey to towards my transformation I studied the NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) course for Certified Personal Trainer. It's amazing how a little knowledge if applied correctly can really work.
I decided at age 38 I would not go another day treating myself like a garbage disposal. On November 8th, 2010 I began a new way of life. It started with a few weeks of simply walking around the neighborhood and quickly progressed to joining a gym and then the fun began. As I began my transformation I also was studying to become a NASM certified personal trainer, I knew my commitment was real. As I studied I began applying scientific knowledge & theories to both my diet and workout routines. As I progressed and began to really learn to mentally stimulate my muscles without the use of heavy weights, I was now getting better more efficient workouts and ultimately I started to look better. I used the sample principles to my diet. Eliminated the obvious guilty pleasures and then through keeping an honest food journal I narrowed down the other foods that I need to eliminate. I don't diet, I just look at food as fuel for the body and that it needs to be the best it can possibly be.
The transformation took 6 months to lose 60lbs and now 1.5 years into it I lost a total of 83 lbs. I have and will continue to inspire others to follow in the same path, everyone has the journey in them.
I'm now a personal trainer in south Florida and love my life more then ever. From the complete and utter dump my life was to this fiercely determined person I've become.
