I am a proud Air Force wife (retired) and mother of 3 grown children. Our family was relocated to Landstuhl, Germany in May 2002. The first year overseas proved to be very difficult with the onset of seasonal depression, in addition to adjusting to life in a foreign land. In 2007, I came to the realization that I was on a dangerous path of failing health. My weight had reached 175 pounds, I had suffered a major knee injury in a skiing accident, was being monitored for high blood pressure and discovered that the majorityof my maternal family members were type II diabetics. In August of that year, I decided to start on road to personal fitness and healthy living - not only for myself, but my family as well. God blessed me with a beautiful family and they deserved a healthy mom and wife. Since that time, I have lost over 50 pounds, became a personal trainer in 2009 and am now a competitive IFBB Women's Physique athlete. I now strive to be an example of health and fitness for my children as well as anyone who seeks a healthier lifestyle.
The journey I've taken from 2008 until now has truly saved my life. I'm stronger and fitter than I've ever been. Pound for pound, I'm stronger than most guys at our gym. Not only am I totally fit and healthy (and proud to say injury free!!), but I am now a confident and strong woman in so many other areas of my life....my relationships, my career, my self esteem. Discovering the strength I never knew I had has changed me, both inside and out. My workouts are now like eating, sleeping and breathing.....I can't possibly do without them!!
