I have always been very active. As a kid I started with tennis and field hockey. Than as a teenager I started playing tennis on a competitive level as well. But after two years of overlapping matches (tennis and hockey fell on the same day), I had to choose. I choose hockey as I was just a little better at it (especially since I made the switch from field player to goalkeeper) and my dad always insisted I at least played one team sport.
About three years ago we got a new coach. He was a crazy (talented) guy from Scotland, who used to work with teams pretty much all over the world. I had a lot of respect for him and was eager to learn. He really rekindled my passion for sports and made me wanna improve myself. I noticed I lacked the (proper) strength for some of the goalie exercises, so I joined a gym to get that fixed.
I got stronger and fitter, but I wasn't getting the results that should come from such hard work. I started doing some research and found this amazing website. I read everything there was to read on nutrition and working out. With my new knowledge I constructed a diet and a workout routine to fit my needs and got started. As soon as I started seeing/feeling changes in my body I was hooked!
