I went to my doctor for an annual physical which was the first time in several years going to the doctor. For the most part, I was healthy and blood work was good. The doctor, however, stated that I needed to improve in some areas and these areas were borderline (hypertension, pre-diabetic, high BP, etc.) -- so, of coarse, I needed to figure out how to get this weight off and increase my quality of life. Being a black male there are health issues that we can suffer with, if we don't take proper care of ourselves. Well, I decided that I was not going to be that guy. I wasn't about to have these health issues because of my weight. And at my heaviest, I weighed 342lbs and standing at 6'1'' I could at least carry my weight pretty well. After some thinking, if I had to be 300lbs. I would rather it be from lean muscle and a low BMI, than my BMI being almost 50%.
