My inspiration came from just generally being one of the smallest lads in the year group. Hitting the age of 16 is were it all began for me, old enough to join the local gym (which was a 3-4 Mile bikeride at the time, before i started driving), where i pumped iron non-stop! I trained naturally for a year, an by natural i mean no supplements of any kind, e.g. no supplements, creatine tablets etc...i achieved 8% body fat which was all well an good at the time, but after a while i decided that size was what i wanted. I couldn't live with just having a ripped body, (1st photo shows where i was after the year), so i got down to looking into how to build some serious head turning muscle.
I did what any guy would do in my situation i guess, talked to my trainers at the gym, researched the best muscle building workouts from all over the world, watched pumping iron purely for inspiration when i didn't want to train, until i found the right combination to achieve my goals.
I've never looked back, my physique is in the best shape it's been all of my life, and i owe it down to my own stubborn motivation to prove myself, as not just another little lad, but someone who can take control of their life.
I love the feeling of the blood rushing through my muscles as I'm working out, the 'pump' as Arnie would call it! It makes me feel so indestructable an so confident when i walk away from a hard sesh in the gym! It's my life basically, and i wouldn't change it for the world. All i ever wanted when i was younger was to be the 'big guy', to have the physique that would impress, that would turn heads when i walked past.....However unfortunately i wasn't blessed with the big arms, broad shoulders, etc that we all in this sport strive to achieve. I started my journey with a very sleak, skinny frame that earnt me the nickname 'SKINNER' when i was a kid. Protruding bones that made me look malnurished, i wasn't very tall either so nothing my going my way....until i started working-out that is, then everything changed.
2 and a half years down the line, i'm in the best shape i've ever been, feeling physically great and with the philosophy of tackling life head on, whatever happens. Proud member of Golds gym, been training hard for months now pounding the weights, seeing some great gains, so long may it continue!!
