I was overweight as a child which led into early adulthood. This had become a very rough period in time for me. As anyone would imagine it would be, with all of the peer pressures and the cruelty of others, I grew depressed. Because I was depressed, i became an emotional eater, which led to the gaining of more weight. At my heaviest I weighed in at 210 pounds, and wore a size 20. It wasn't until I was 20 years old when I decided enough was enough. I began to simply walk-6 days a week for an hour a day. I cut out junk food and soda, and almost immediately I lost 20 pounds. I then began to lift weights 3 times a week, which caused me to rapidly lose more weight. It took me a total of 3 years to lose all of the weight, and I've never looked back. I've become an avid lifter and chose to work in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and fitness instructor, with the hopes of changing someone else's life, just as I did mine.
I absolutely love the intensity and the high I get from lifting. I love how it makes me feel strong mentally and physically. I try to challenge myself every time I hit the gym floor with something new. The love I have for working out has inspired me to train to compete as well as make a career in fitness. Working out has given me so much confidence to the point where I truly believe in myself 100%, and know I have the capabilities to achieve anything I set my mind to. Working out has transformed me both mentally and physically, as I am now at peace with myself and everything around me.
