I started serious weight lifting when I got out of boot camp for the Air Force and was set on putting muscle on my small frame. I was 5'7 and 135lbs and when I left tech school I weighed 155lbs. I had gained 20lbs in 6 months time and I felt great!! This feeling lasted all the way up until 2 days later of graduating tech school, where I spiral fractured my left humerous, arm wrestling. Yes, lol I was that guy, the guy you watch on youtube who gets his arm broken, arm wrestling. After hearing that I would have to have surgery in order for my arm to be set, everything that I had worked for the last year was going to be wasted. In the end I recieved a plate and 7 screws, a 10 inch scar along my tricep, 3 months of sitting around, 2 months of therapy and slow recovery process of getting back to where I once was. I love lifting, I feel great doing it. Its so mundane but self filling. I started lifting again seriously about 7 months ago and have since then gone from 138Lbs to 155lbs. I'm happy about my progress, but I'm so irratated that I might not ever have 100% strength in my left arm. All I know is that I all I can do is make the best out of the situation and give my best effort, chin up right?
I love improving myself, in everyway. Its great to watch your body slowly transform from a skinny, lanky kid to a reflection in the mirror that your proud of.
