Thanks Oz. I've been following his progress for a while, before anyone here was talking about him. I like how he's set himself the target of a 970 raw deadlift which is insane but I wouldn't write him off if he moves up a class. If it one day happens for him that would be an incredible achievement when you consider how slowly the raw record has moved over the last 2 decades.

Thanks, it's basically been 5 1/2 years of a slow steady bulk. The goal at this point is to see how strong I can get. 40lbs in 2 years without increasing your body fat much is a solid effort. If you can stay healthy while consistently adding weight/reps to your lifts and get in enough protein and reasonably clean calories every day, you'll keep putting on muscle.

Totally agree with your comments about strength and calories. I just focus on consistently moving more weight/reps, getting through enough sets, and consuming enough calories/protein. I try to keep my training as simple as possible.

Hi PoW, good to see you around. I don't bother updating stats on here but I've made solid progress over the past 6-9 months on everything. Still training upper/lower 3-4x a week. How about you?

Matt, not sure what KK is up to. In an interview 18 months ago he said his immediate goal was to beat Bolton's WR (then 971). Then Andy pulled 1003 later that year. I noticed he then skipped the Latvian nationals in '07 so maybe he's been busy putting on weight to move up a class or two to challenge him.

It gets tough because beyond a certain point every 5lbs feels like 20+. The old law of diminishing returns, kind of like with cars where it takes ridiculous money to go from 11's to 10's over the 1/4 mile even though it's only one second. Going from reps in the 300's to maxing at around 550 didn't take long, whereas everything beyond that has been at a crawl.

Thanks a lot. It shouldn't take you long at all to reach your goal. You look great.

A slow steady bulk + making weight progression on the big compound lifts a priority. Eating a lot of protein (steak, chicken, fish, eggs, milk, protein shakes, etc.). Eating every 2-3 hours. Not panicking and doing a rapid cut when my abs disappeared. My journal has more details. Above all wanting this. As soon as I saw myself growing after a lifetime of being skinny, I kept pushing it and haven't looked back.

Just to keep getting stronger, hit 7 plates on deads, gradually put on more muscle while staying around the same condition, and above all stay as healthy as possible. How about you?

Glad some of that information on Konstantinovs was helpful. It's already pretty obvious that I'm a big fan. I'm confident he'll eventually hold the WR.

Thanks. You've got a great foundation there for only 6 months training. Keep getting stronger every week on a slow steady bulk taking in plenty of protein and you'll be a beast.

Another guy with a thick waist getting beat up on for his lat spread. Looks fine to me. D, you're a big dude moving some serious weight.
