I was not a big guy or had much muscle tone at all, but i always saw myself with a muscular cut body. So everyday seeing the changes in progress towards my goal keeps me going. Plus to know everyone back home doesn't know what to expect when I get back.

DrLynn Sorry...needed another box. Immediately do a front raise but only till your hands are directly out in front of you..hold that for 5 seconds, take it up all the way, then back down and hold for 5 seconds again..that's one rep. Basically it's a side raise right into a front raise but with the pauses in between..seems easy but it's very taxing and uses the muscles differently. I usually try to get about 10 reps in before collapse..ha, ha!! Sep 21, 2010 11:44am

DrLynn I just had an awesome shoulder workout which made me think of you...you were asking about good exercises. I did one today that's very effective and just requires dumbbells. It's just standard front/side raises but you pause along the way. You start with your hands at your sides..then bring the dumbbells up to a T (holding them straight out) for 5 seconds, then up over your head (your arms will be slightly bent), take it back to the t position for 5 seconds then down. TheyCallMeLG lol agreed! i have a friend who is currently stationed in afghanistan as well, not sure exactly where though. he's been out there for about a month now so i hear bits and pieces of what goes on. anyway, im majoring in community health and am in my final year. cant wait to be done!
