Yesterday I had my first mma training session. I was pretty nervous because there are experienced fighters at this gym and the instructor is a former pro fighter, but they were all pretty encouraging. The session began with a one mile run outdoors to warm up. Following this was 50 push ups followed by 50 situps. Mother nature just didn't want me to do hill sprints today. I arrived on the hill with clear skies ahead. Five minutes later it rains like it's never rained before right in the middle of my stretch. This was definitely a bummer since I'm still trying to cut some fat out. I could still do cardio indoors, but really can any cardio actually replace hill sprints in terms of effectiveness? I've said it before...college academic success and keeping in shape at the same time is definitely a tall glass of water. I'm taking summer classes for my school, but now I have my schedule figured out and can finally start hitting the gym again! Since my goal is fat loss while maintaining as much strength as possible I have opted to go with a circuit routine since it will allow me to get in and out of the gym more quickly. It's been a long time since I have visited my bodyspace, I have been way too focused on dieting and training to get in shape for VA Tech's corps of cadets. Today, however, I looked in the mirror and suddenly realized that I have achieved considerable progress so far! I felt so encouraged by it that I decided to visit my bodyspace and upload a new progress picture.
