The baby factory has shut down, so it is time for a Hot Mamma! At 238 lbs in February '09, started walking at lunch, have progressed to weight training and HIIT in August '09.
Why I Love It:
I started to dieting and exercise because I wanted to be thinner. Now I am BODYBUILDING, so my focus is on how strong I can be, how firm I can be, how much bodyfat I can burn. I love the challenge of making my body do things that it doesn't want to do...like lift heavy, run fast, lose fat, build muscle. Bodybuilding is giving me mental and emotional strength, too. Something about kicking butt in the gym for 2 hours at 5 am that makes everything else in the day seem like a piece of cake.
How I Stay Motivated:
I am motivated by the way my body feels when I eat clean and train. If I miss a workout, my body feels sluggish and poor. Rest days are the hardest for me because I am totally addicted to endorphins!
If I do not eat clean, my body reminds me that cheese and salt and bread are not my friends.
BB Accomplishments:
Working out with free weights and Smith machines with the big dogs in a co-ed gym is my biggest accomplishment so far. It was a big step to make the move from the ladies gym to the intimidating man cave of the free weights and cable machines. But I threw my shoulders back and just went to work.

I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog, too...
Wow...lots of room for improvement here. I had already lost 30 lbs since February 2009.
Enough talking about it...time to be about it. Talking trash to my friends about how I am going to go psycho-dedicated-HermTheWorm-style-willing-to-do-anything-crazy on this bikini challenge...but then being afraid to post the before picture.
Screw that...if we're gonna go nuts, let's go nuts!
Here ...
My goal is to achieve a body that is active and healthy and a physique that is toned and unencumbered by fat.
Goal (Long):
I am going to dedicate the next 90 days (November 1 through Feb 1) to 4 triangular pieces of fabric held together with strings...THE BIKINI. I am going to walk and run and bike and lift and squat and press and push and pull and squeeze and brush and lotion and tan and tweeze and wax and eat and drink and sleep with the sole purpose of looking fabulous in that damn bikini on February 1st!

I want to achieve 18% or lower body fat in 2010.
I am in the same predicament now that oceanblu149 was in when she started. I have lost 30 lbs so far and probably have 60-70 lbs to go. What a role model!
Do you track your workouts (exercises, weight, reps, etc.)?
Yes
If so, how do you do it? Workout log, software program, etc.? Why do you do it this way?
I like using the BodySpace workout tracker, but I am currently participating in a proprietary program and I don't want to post my workouts online.

Today I was working out in my office gym at lunch time. I usually don't turn the tv on, I just listen to my iPod and get to work. I had been working out for about 20 minutes by myself when 2 other women came in and turned on the TV. I stood up from the leg press machine and just sort...

Two adages which I frequently run through mt head and are oh-so-true and very, very helpful. "The smallest of doubts are worst than the cruelest of truths." And another that applies to any athletic endeavor "Think long, think wrong." Anyway. What's hotter a guy who takes himself too seriously or a confident, funny guy who can poke (I'm good at poking. Wink, wink) fun at himself? That video should help, not hurt, any Herm fantasies.
Hey Dawn!
I am just checking in :) what are your thoughts about coaching? I am saving you a spot on my team :) have 3 left and would love for you to give it a try! <3 Katy
