Recently, I got burnt out from the long hours of studying in medical school, and decided to start hitting the gym more often to burn off steam. Well, I got hooked, and it has become my fix now.
Why I Love It:
The best stress reliever. It also turns me on and improves self-confidence.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have a choice. Either workout or study. Hehe...don't need much motivation.
BB Accomplishments:
I am the pushup champion among my group of friends.
My first-ever bodyspace pic. Flexing my abs. Pretty happy with my upper body, although I'd like to lean out a bit more.
Instead of doing the same exercises, I've been alternating my ab work, one day doing P90X, another Insanity, another weighted incline crunches @ the gym, and it seems to be helping.
Hahah, I use that one but use Brains instead of Balls/Boobs haha.. also there's one for the branches of CNV (eg V1 = "easy as 1, 2, 3" for the diff branches) and I'll have many many more over the weekend.. just saw one for the maxillary artery (DAM I AM Piss Drunk But Stupid Drunk I Prefer, Must Phone Alcoholics Anonymous"). Seriously these things are my lifesavers!
Haha, why don't you like kids? I like them, but I can see why they may be difficult/non-compliant patients.. also if they're young, can't really get info from them by asking questions.
Thank you! I just do crunches on Swiss ball and hanging leg raises (the leg raises hit the lower abs more. Also reverse crunches sometimes. I don't spend much time on abs, I hit them indirectly with compound lifts.
Interesting.. I actually shadowed in the ICU for a month this past summer and a lot of the patients were in a comatose state. Have you thought about EM?
haha, the digestive tract was by far my favorite section of anatomy! And I listened to a GI doc speak and I liked the idea about being able to do minor procedures and (yes I'm saying this) colonoscopies. What are YOU interested in??
Actually, its really challenging, especially as I have a lung condition. I am already seeing results from this program, so that says something about what it does as well. Great for cardio, great for the legs, great for the abs!
Haha thanks, I do exercises on the captain's chair and other than that try (key word) to eat clean. Med school is def a lot of work, I dunno how I would get through it if I hadn't taken some of the classes (histo&embryo) last year already.. anatomy is so dense!! You? Third year right? Are you on rotations?
