When I Started:
Jul, 2006
How I Started:
I have always loved working out but never commited to it because I didn't think I could ever really be a 'bodybuilder'. I came to a point where I needed something to be dedicated to. I did alot of research. I have always been diciplined in my diet and I am very vascular. I realized that with hard work and dedication I could really achive something.
This is a newer picture up, still have a ways to go, but I am proud of the progress so far.
Why I Love It:
I love dedication. Being consitently dedicated to something like bodybuilding and doing it, no matter what, in the face of obsticles and all that will make anyone feel great and in turn love what it is they are dedicated to.
The afterwork out feeling is also a factor. I suppose when you get down to it its not like drugs, it is drugs. Only its your body's natural response.
How I Stay Motivated:
First, look at my picture and check out just about anyone elses on bodyspace. I am sure that picture will be looked at as humorous, I am going to believe that it will, that is motivation right there.
I suppose I have dreams of being 5'7" and 205lbs, that keeps me going. But, really what motivated me is doing it, eating it, living it. Bodybuilding is a huge part of my life, take it away and I am left empty. So I am in a nice position in that as long as I am motivated to living life I am motivated to hit the gym hard and focus on my food and lifestyle.
BB Accomplishments:
Added 2.5" to my shoulders since begining.
1.5" to chest.
.5" to biceps.
Moved benchpress 1 rep max from 120 lbs to 165 lbs in approx 6 weeks.
Short term: gain 2" to biceps and chest, thicken abs, hit 170lbs.
Long Term: Hit 195lbs and measurements as big as genetics will allow.
Goal (Long):
In the short term I am trying to hit 170lbs. I trying to add inches to my arms and chest as well as thicken up abs. And replace that crappy picture of me with something worthy of BodySpace. (read my motivation)
My Long Term goals are to hit 195+lbs and max out my measurements to as much as genetics will allow, since thats the only thing that will stand in my way.
Bodyspace says to be detailed so here it is.
I definately want to be forced to buy new clothes, maybe I'll have to cut somes Vs in my sleeves for awhile because "I've just been to buzy to buy new shirts", or atleast that will be my excuse for a few weeks.
The truth is this, I really want to see huge gains, who doesn't. I recently looked into taking Karate to maintain flexibility and to keep buzy. There also maybe some fulfillment of juvenile fantasies there too (some of my generation my recognize who Guile actually is.)
My question about Karate was "how long will it take to earn my Blackbelt?" the answer was as follows.
I came across an article that said a true blackbelt isn't concerned with having/earning his blackbelt, its about the process, the dedication, the lessons learned. This was a very long article, but in short it said that a true blackbelt doesn't wear a belt of black cloth, but the white belt of a beginner made black by the blood, sweat and tears of his training.
Do I want gains, dream of gains, pray for gains? Absolutely, but I have learned over the years that you cant ignore the process, thats the meat of everything.
So my detailed goals are to get huge, noticeable. But the meat of my goal is to remain dedicated and enjoy every minute at the gym. Every minute working out alone, with friends or bugging real bodybuilders for advice (acceptance). To enjoy the pain and patience, the morning pill stomach and 3 suppllement drinks a day that start to taste like crap after 3 weeks.
I want to put a picture up worthy of bodyspace and put a picure of myself in the day to day that represents true dedication.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 60 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
15%

Just took some measurements. After 3 hard arm and chest workouts last week and the new chicken recipe I have gained 1/2 an inch to biceps and a little more than 1/2 an inch to my chest. Its awesome to see quick results from your hard work. I can't belive the gains.
Hey bro thanks for the compliments. Check out this weeks wallpaper of the week on bodybuilding.com. Also check out Ironmans January 2007 Issue page 253. Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Nice job. Your can see the quality pounds packin on. I live in SE KS but from NW ARK. Still got family in Gravette-Siloam Sprs area. Anyway good luck with your goals.
Hey thanks for comments! I joined Bodyspace just for the support and motivation from people all around the world. As for vitamin brokering it keeps me the health field daily so it is so important for me to look my best so others will get motivated as well.
sounds like a plan. i havent been treating myslf too well over the past 6+ months cus of uni. i'm wrapping up so i'll catch up with ya and give ya some feedback and updates. good luck dude.
Yeah I read you blog to. Check out the comments on training and eating....I once felt you pain of hating white chicken meat. The recipe works because you're constantly rehydrating the Chicken. It is a muscle.
What's up, fellow late nighter? You say I'm dedicated? You got twice the goals and three times the dedication. Good Profile, keep up the hard lifting Bro!
Thanks..yeah, I am goin nuts. I lost about 15lbs in 5 weeks and I am gonna be alot more busy in MA classes starting soon. I am gonna train with some cops sundays at a local Jiu jitsu place here..They are gonna have their hands full lol..

sounds good to me! i love chicken! I generally buy a few bags of frozen chicken each week and make sure their gone by the next, I really need to get back into the eating every two hours thing, real tough during school though. do you cook them before hand and refrigerate them, or cook them one at a time?
That last comment was me btw. I forgot to sign in haha.

Hey how's it going? I hope you can reach your goals, and I know you will cause I can tell how motivated you are. I took pics of myself about a year ago, but deleted them off my computer. I was REALLY skinny back then. I plan on sticking to this though and hopefully I can post some awesome gains in the coming months.
Hi RL- you're welcome! I think we have a tendency to be harder on ourselves, and not always see what improvements others see.
I sometimes expected to see results overnight and learned I just had to be patient.
Give yourself time and you'll grow and develop your muscles. Keep at it.

thanks man, i've been lifting for a while so i have a solid foundation. I was at aroudn 146 in the summer but then lost some weight and now i'm back down to 138. I'm training hard now though and wanting to get to 160. I can tell you've made some progress by looking at ur progress pics. Just keep eating big, train hard, and the gains will keep coming.
