When I Started:
How I Started:
I wanted to become a stronger runner and decided lifting weights was the way to accomplish that. Over time, I fell in love with the iron and it overshadowed my running.
Why I Love It:
I love how bodybuilding is not just a discipline of the body, but of the mind and heart. Bodybuilding has taught me how to focus on a goal and to lay out a strategy to achieve whatever that goal may be.
How I Stay Motivated:
I think having someone to look up to and desiring to emulate that person is fine. But I also feel that can be daunting and discouraging. My favorite mottos for motivation are: "YOU vs YOU!" and, The best inspiration is not to outdo others but to outdo ourselves."
BB Accomplishments:
Mr. Tennessee, Women's Open Lightweight, 1st place

What Viva-la-Vida Is Up To:
Mar 16, 2009
Viva-la-Vida changed Body Fat from 11% to 10%, a loss of 1 percentage point in 4 days
At one time, I weighed 210. Then I lost the weight and went down to an unhealthy 90 pounds. Through bodybuilding, I learned how to eat healthfully. I learned it's not about being "skinny". It's about being strong and being at my optimal. My goal is longevity in the sport that I love.

Thats awesome! Great job! Unfortunately I have a wrist condition that needs to heal and is preventing me from lifting with my right arm. I am unsure about the contest at this point, BUT I am definitely sticking to my goal of leaning out!
Thanks! Things are going good, my weight keeps wavering, but I seem to be leaner, so I am waiting for my next BF% measurement to verify!
How is your prep going?! You're about 2-3 weeks out right? I hope everything is great!
