When I Started:
Aug, 2008
How I Started:
Got tired of being in the state I was in. Stopped eating chocolate every day, then joined a gym.
Why I Love It:
It changes your life, not just your body.
How I Stay Motivated:
Knowing that the investment I make in myself will pay HUGE dividends gets me out of my warm, comfortable bed to do early morning training.
And the great friends here are always encouraging.
BB Accomplishments:
So far... losing 59 pounds and still counting. Still counting.
I will lose 9kg by 30 November.
In order to do this I will follow my training program enthusiastically. It will be joyful for me to feed my body correctly. I will leap out of bed with energy to do early morning cardio 3 times a week.
6 Week training cycle began Saturday, 29 August.
Herm is a wonderfully accomplished person. He is probably the most genuine person I know. He is also the most generous, loyal friend anyone could ask for.
Why I like this video: This is the Tiesto remix of Papillon by Editors. The original video has awesome running in it. I like both versions but I love the driving base in the remix. Love this! Excellent for cardio!
Especially with my emotional things. I prefer quietly working through these in my own way.
Six months ago I separated from my husband. As a coping mechanism I never allowed myself to feel the emotions that go with such a significant loss. I was...
Yes, I am really and truly 48 and even if I LOOKED 48 I would be happy as a clam with that. I am the person people who are 48 look to when they think being 48 is not a great thing. Next year I will do the same for the 49 year olds. Et Cetera. :) I am a role model and becon of light of middle aged guys.
Thank you for your comments, Im trying to take it slower other than diving in like its do or die. I think im just worried if i give myself slack ill just unravel again. But going balls to the wall like last time only made taking a break harder. So confusing, i just have no one in my life that cares about there body, so the only motivation i get is in the gym. And you never have them around when you need in daily life.
I was in Greece but got back the last week of October. It was amazing...loved getting away. I needed to recharge my batteries, but I missed my lil kiddos. I know, the holiday's are upon us...I am trying to eat sooo good so I can indulge on Christmas. It is my fav holiday with the best food. How are things on your end?
Thank you for noticing. 5 weeks ago I was very unhappy with how undeveloped they were due to my injury (see blog). But instead of whining about it like a mere mortal, I hit legs twice a week for 2 hours and change a workout and did something about it. Some people live in the kingdom of saying. The Worm lives in the kingdom of doing.
Sorry double post. I like to say I "think" because it gives me a hungrier mindset. I don't want to take anything for granted. Every workout I'm like: Okay, this thing is up to you, Herm, do you have what it takes? Okay, then, bring the f-cking heat, baby.
I am going to arrive at the gym at 2 o'clock. And slowly and methodically do abs and legs (of course including calves) until 6 o'clock. I am then going to proceed to the tanning salon and then go home and agonize how I didn't train hard enough. That's what's on the docket.
