Background

HOW I STARTED:

I was involved in athletics at an early age. Track & Field, Softball, Basketball, Cross Country running in the winters, to name a few, lol.

WHY I LOVE IT:

I have gained a lot of weight within the last year although because i am tall, it appears to others that i am exaggerating but the scale, mirror & my eyes don't lie, lol. I have a few health issues right now and I feel like my increased weight & lack of working out consistently have led to them. When I worked out regularly and was in better shape my health was so much better.

My Motivation Program

Since i am getting back into the swing of things, I am actually finding it hard to stay motivated but I motivate myself with little things. The shopping trip that will come when I am in better shape, the Coach bag for Christmas that I can only buy if I consistently work out, a new game for my Xbox, the trip to Mexico with my girls in February & how I expect to look in my bikini, the trip to Costa Rica in March with my girls & the trip to Panama with my best friend in August, if I work out consistently each week I can treat myself to a manicure, little things like that help.

Kicking my booty in gear:)

so we're having a fitness competition at work, who can reduce their body age, fat %, blood pressure, vo2 max etc.  the winner wins a 5 pack of training sessions and there are different categories you can win, etc.  perfect to keep me on track with my workouts.  i also signed up for a 15 day fitness challenge with my friend that runs a boot camp.  the idea being that for the next 15 days you have to do at least 45 minutes of exercise per day and report it online on the board (the boot camp board).  documenting what you did, your weight...

finally able to do legs today :)

so for once my knees have not been killing me & I was finally able to do a leg only workout.  of course since i haven't worked my legs at all since my knee problems started, i felt like a leg beginner.  i'm going to have to find some other leg exercises that won't hurt my knee.  i have patella tendonitis probably due to all those years as an athlete so usually any exercise where i have to bend my knees hurts like ras as my people say, lol.  so far the only leg exercises i can do on a day when my knees are aching is the cable kickback & de...
