Background

When I Started: Feb 2010
HOW I STARTED:

I'm a sort of a newbie to working out. I've had a stint where I lost 20 pounds when I was at my then highest weight of 190. Then at 170, I started packing on the pounds and stopped at 200. Stayed there for 2 years or so. Then I met my now husband. Fell in love, moved in together and got married. In the 3 years since we've met I've gained 60 pounds. Seeing as how in a few short years I'll be 30 and will want a family I want to be in the best shape I can possibly be. Also, I don't want to waste the rest of my life the way I've wasted away most of my 20's.

WHY I LOVE IT:

From past work out experiences I have noticed that the first 3 weeks are the hardest, but it felt good running up a flight of stairs without getting winded. I want that feeling again :-)

Day 2

Posted in Training  :  Dec 28, 2010 5:56pm
Day 2 was Cardio day.  After Day 1's workout no-go, I decided to just do cardio at home.  I did Zumba for 20 minutes.  I know it might not seem like much to some, but to a procrastinating couch potato, it's a baby step towards the big picture.  Despite working out these first two days didn't go as planned, I am proud of the choices I am making in my diet. I am not eating exactly how the BFL program lays it out (6 small meals a day) because my sleep pattern is all kinds of horrible.  I am eating 2-3 meals, but they are a lot healthier...

Didn't happen.  I left the apartment, cause I knew if I stayed another minute waiting, I would lose the courage to go.  I called the hubby from my cel on the way to the gym, but he didn't even pick up. I knew he was mad at me, but I waited outside the gym for him. As I waited and waited I noticed there was a huge crowd at the froent desk.  There were over 50 people signing up for the gym.  I hate hate hate crowds of people just milling around... I got anxious and kept calling home, in hopes that the hubster would come, but my phone died. I felt s...

Day 1...

has not begun cause I'm waiting for my husband to finish playing world of warcraft.  I'm not mad he's playing (as I'm the one that got him into it), but to prioritize leaving a bunch of strangers hanging over me... pisses me the **** off... I think I'll leave his ass at home and just do me.

Captain Ahab
Captain Ahab Nicky, rather than only looking at "the big picture," I also suggest that you look at taking small steps. By taking smaller steps towards a larger goal, you are able to experience success much more quickly and much more often. So instead of telling yourself you're going to lose say, 60 pounds within the year, try telling yourself you're going to lose 1 or 2 pounds this week. Then do it. Remember: Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined. Jan 23, 2010 4:49pm
Captain Ahab
Captain Ahab What helped my wife (bodyspace: judimax) go from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 in just 12 weeks and me lose over 50 Lb at the same time was by following the free 12 week Body for Life program. It's a body transformation program that covers nutrition, weightlifting and cardio. I wish you success with whatever program you use and look forward to your progress. If you would like more info or if there is ever anything that I can do to be of assistance please feel free to give me a yell. Jan 23, 2010 4:47pm
