When I Started:
Jul, 2007
How I Started:
Body for Life is what I did first. Happy with the results, I wanted to take it to the next level. I love competing...it lets me train hard, get glammed up for stage, and feeds my competitive side!
Why I Love It:
I love the way it has changed not only my body, but my outlook on life. I am much more willing to reach out to strangers than to hide in my own little world.
I like things that give you back exactly what you put into them. Your progress directly reflects your discipline and work ethic!
How I Stay Motivated:
Continually watching shows, seeing my teammates progress, and innundating myself with fitness/figure media helps me stay on track. Finally, seeing my own progress pictures convinces me I am still changing even when I think I've stalled my progress.

To place FIRST in a National Show and earn IFBB Pro Status in FIGURE!
Goal (Long):
I competed at the National level in 2008, and am improving with every show! I am learning how I work best with foods and what kind of look carries best on my body. I DO want first place...and THAT is what I train for. I have never let any placing define how I feel about competing, or define my self esteem.
Whether I place first or last (and I have placed both!), I enjoy it either way, and that's why I return. I am grateful to have placed as well as I have, recently, and even more grateful that I even have the opportunity to do so! One goal is to keep this perspective!
My competition goal is to place FIRST at a National competition. To do this, I need to perfect my posing and tweak my balance. I am working on my shoulder fullness and conditioning to bring out my hammies! This combination should make me look better as a competitor, and better placings should follow.
A continuing goal is to actually LOOK like I improved--I do not want to appear on stage looking the same.
Another thing that is very rewarding to me is to get someone fit who had NO CLUE that they could 'get in shape'--and I mean IN SHAPE like a hardbody! I love when people think that only certain people have 'what it takes' to be in shape, but then discover that they can do it, too. I love the transformation of their mind and watching their physique change. I love bringing new people into fitness-- I KNOW there are so many people who just think this whole thing is unattainable for them. I feel that they need the right information and assurance that yes--YOU CAN! So, my goal will always to be looking to motivate, inspire, and pull someone out of the ditch!
Ok, that's it for now...I'm sure I'll be adding to this! ;)
Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?

Where do you get your workout programs?
www.bodybyo.com I am working with Kim Oddo! I love that I know exactly when to contact him, and I like that I have his full attention during that time. He really knows his stuff-- he is giving me very individual feedback on my weaknesses, and constantly altering things based on our conversations and my photos (I train online). I cannot say enough good things about him. He has a lot of clients for a reason, and I would never say it if I did not believe it. www.bodybyo.com I am working with Kim Oddo! Offseason has begun!!! I have to add fullness to my upper body! My last show placing was not the best, and I can see why; I really need more fullness in my upper--still! I think I have to push hard against some genetics and posture in my shoulder area, but it's just going to take...
it get especially hard when you get hungry and the galley is filled with sweet stuff and salted crakers. I dont always feel like working out as well when I get to hotels very late or with a long day ahead. anyway, you re a good motivator, V1. I should change my name here and get "rotate" to match your name ;/
I saw you in the aug Oxygen mag and really felt like congratulating you on the level of fitness you achieved considering your job. I m a pilot too and I cant agree more with you when you say it s not easy to try eat healthy and lean and have a descent way of living with our job. Very nice work
I'm sorry you didn't place as high as you wanted in your latest show. I know you'll do better next time. Which airline do you work for? I fly United primarily - would like to look for you and say hi if you every pilot for UA...
You are welcome. Thanks for the compliment and being a friend here.
God bless
Randy
