When I Started:
Jul, 2007
How I Started:
I had been lifting a little bit on and off before, but in July I really got into it and made it a serious part of my life.
Why I Love It:
What's not to love? I love the way it drives me both in and out of the gym, how the dedication and motivation spills over into the rest of my life. And I love knowing that I have finally found something I am really good at!
How I Stay Motivated:
When you are doing something like this, motivation isn't a problem! I love going to the gym and pushing myself to the limits.
Do you track your workouts (exercises, weight, reps, etc.)?
Yes
If so, how do you do it? Workout log, software program, etc.? Why do you do it this way?
I don't always track them, but when I am going through a routine where I need to know what I just did the last workout, I keep it written down in a journal.

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
I have been very consistent and dedicated to my training. I eat extremely healthy with only one cheat meal a week, even though I am not in contest preparation, and I never miss a training day. If it is the case where I will absolutely have to miss a training day, I will do that...
hey buddy: u r welcome...well deserved.. u look ripped and got a body of art! keep it up..training here is going well and trying real hard to reach golas..have a great week end!
I find it great at this point. I am able to hit leg day harder than ever and use the angled leg press and hack squat machines, where I never could before. I will be working my way up to walking lunges hopefully before too long but all in do time. Any plans for your body? Shows?
Remember: "Sweat is the cologne of accomplishment."
I am so impressed with your progress and your conditioning -- you earned that pro card bigtime! I'll be usung far less waxy maize starting after Christmas... let the cutting begin! I hope by May 22nd I'm as diced as you were!
Mike, as always, thx for your really great comments. Coming from someone who I look up to in terms of fitness and overall impressive commitment to the sport, I appreciate the motivation you provide. Am continuing to build solid muscle and lean out a bit more. Time is on my side! Thx for the cont. power to successfully advance forward! CJ
I didn't realize that there were no weight divisions in the pro ranks. Of course, I've only attended a few amateur shows and have never been to a pro show before so maybe my ignorance is natural in this case at least!
I mix soy protein with a nut protein like peanuts. If you put two incomplete protein together, it counts as a complete supposedly. Then i take whey protein, casein, and sometimes there's egg protein in some of the protein powders i drink, depending on which one. Since I started supplementing with whey, I've felt much stronger.
The knee has a computer in it that reads what everything I am doing with it 100 X a second and adjusts accordingly. What that does is help me walk up and down hills and on unstable ground, like sand or gravel. I can even walk downstairs like a normal person now instead of 1 step at a time. I can now use a hack squat machine and angled leg press. I'll see where I can take it.
