When I Started:
1998
How I Started:
I had always been one of the scrawny guys in school, and when I finished high school, I decided that it was time to change that.
Why I Love It:
I feel really proud that I take care of my body, and I really enjoy the calm that I get from body building. Also, I love watching my body change.
How I Stay Motivated:
I think about how I would look if I stopped working out, and I think about how I want to look. I also remember how much easier it is to sleep at night after a hard workout, that I can eat more when I'm working out, and how good I feel once I've finished a work out.
I need to figure out how to cram more food into my craw
Goal (Long):
I am going to lift 900 pounds, combined. Right now, it's looking like it's between my deadlift, bench press and clean. 400 for Deadlift, 250 for bench press, and 250 for my clean.

I currently have 2 upper body days a week, and 2 lower body days. I pair them together, and do heavy upper body followed by light/stability lower body, then vice versa two days later.
Recently, I realized that I wasn't spending enough time on my shoulders and arms, so I crammed those into...
Yep, I let the mirror be my ultimate guide - but changes in the mirror seem to come to slowly (I'm sure you know what I mean)! How's everything going for you so far this month, btw?
I'm sure I'm not the only one - a lot of people read but don't comment. Me, I find the blogs some of the most interesting things at this site. Keep cranking them out (sporadically at least!).
Hey, I saw the new stats you posted - looks like someone's been growing lately. Congrats on getting the "guns" up to 15 inches you're entering big boy territory! Keep up the great work.
Oooh, we don't want belly weight - but if it's helping you put on the muscle maybe it's okay for the short term. I'm glad things are going well and thanks for the comment about my blogs!
Yep - you don't want to add fat (trust me, I know this one). I guess I either didn't know or forgot that you were working with a trainer. How's that working for you? I worked with one for a while and made some of my best gains during that time. It's good to have that honest opinion and knowledge to keep you on track!
Astonishing? Keep up the nutrition and the lifts and by this time next year you'll wonder why you were ever so "light!" I bet you'll be up to 170 by mid-summer at the latest and then on to, dare I say it?, 200 by next spring? It'll take some dedication but I think you, and more importantly, your frame can handle it. How are the lifts coming? Any new gains?
If your abs are in even better shape now, that's great! It's not easy to keep them visible and add lean mass at the same time, so you must be doing everything right. And you still have time to gain a bit more muscle/definition before beach weather comes around ;-)
LOL..well the speed/incline pyramids I'm doing now aren't that rough because I'm targeting my average heart rate for fat burning and avoiding burning muscle that way. Your four days of HIIT cardio should be more than enough if you just was to tweak your definition a bit more - you already have some nice abs!!
