Background

When I Started: Jun 1997
HOW I STARTED:

I was 13 years old and 215 pounds. I used that summer between 7th and 8th grade to finally start losing weight. It's no fun being the fat kid.

WHY I LOVE IT:

You can easily measure your accomplishments, you feel so pumped and clean inside after working out, and I can finally be fit instead of being jealous of people who look fit.

I fell off the horse a few times, especially during college and a stressful first job, but now I can see myself getting in better shape which pushes me to keep going, and my job requires me to work around patients who aren't very fit and have a lot of medical problems because of it (bariatrics)
