I wanted to become stronger, lose fat to be healthier and look better, and necessitate healthyness to attain function.
Why I Love It:
Doing better than the last time, being stronger and more confident in day to day life, endorphin rush, stiffens my loose back to good posture and DOMS takes my mind off of other stress or back pain.
How I Stay Motivated:
When I do stay motivated (I have lapses), it's by visualizing my long term goals, and how awesome those will be, to be able to perform cool movements, and to get on the path there with hard work that will enlighten me.
BB Accomplishments:
None really, I notice some slight increases in size and strength.
Forum Signature:
"Watching a man working out properly is almost frightening; the intensity of effort is so great that the subject's entire body is shaking, his face will turn dark red or even purple and both breathing and heart action will be increased at least 100%, and frequently far more than that." -Arthur Jones
I want to work up to doing 10 full RoM chinups and pullups.
Goal (Long):
I'm using a machine that assists with a counterweight to train both of these. I can get anywhere up to 110 pounds. I'm starting light like this for high reps, then going heavy for as many reps, then when I fail to do a weight, starting over again. I hope to build up a lot of endurance and mass this way. Hopefully, it will also help contribute to some weight loss, as my body fat is largely what makes performing chinups a pain.
I am also training some grip strength by hanging on and doing one chin-up on my basement rafter by the tips of my fingers. Unfortunately, the hands can't take it long enough to train full chinups that way, especially for endurance.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 40 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
10%
Upcoming Contest:
I'd like to compete in ultimate frisbee and run some short marathons for cancer research.
Oh yeah, forgot...regarding your chins...after a really good warmup, try weighting your belt progressively up to your SRM over 3 or 4 sets. A few weekly cycles of this & your bodyweight will feel invisible! I use chains for the weight & have had really good results in terms of strength.
