Used to do with my Dad in the Garage, then I did it some when I was in High School to strengthen up for football. Quit after I hurt my back, but a few years later my Dad got into the Gym and talked me into doing it too. Been hooked since.
Why I Love It:
I love the rush I get from doing the lift, seeing myself grow (not in the belly for once either lol) and being able to accomplish goals I set for myself. I love feeling healthier and my girlfriend likes the results too. ;)
How I Stay Motivated:
Setting goals and making them is a start. It also takes a good amount of determination and pushing yourself through. Once things become routine, it isn't so to push through regularly. I also absolutely hate having some extra weight (started out at BF% of 32!) and am so happy to get this stuff off of me.
BB Accomplishments:
Started out in the Gym able to hit 185 on Bench. Went from there to Benching what I should weigh (at the time) at 15% body fat- Benched 225. Then Benched my current weight- 255, then got up to 90lbs over- 345. I have also lost 0ver 30lbs of pure fat and for the first time in my life I have nice definition in my quads, biceps, some starting in my back. I have put size on my chest and back and I have tightened up my Glutes to a great degree too. I have dropped 2 pant sizes as well.
I want to get down to about an 8% bodyfat and maintain it. I want to look good, feel good and be able to live healthily.
Goal (Long):
I have always had a problem with weight, and I am fed up with it. I am tired of being embarrassed to take off my shirt in public, tired of feeling down about the way I look and tired of worrying about my health. I have a family history of congestive heart failure and I am not going to allow myself to become it's next victim. I am going to work hard, live strong and get the body I know I deserve! I hope to be down to 225lbs by May and within the next couple years work my way back up to 240lbs- in muscle of course!
