Description: This is the swim start from Ironman USA in Lake Placid during 2006. I'm in this mess somewhere! If you have never seen an IM swim start, they are amazing.
Prologue
As most of you know this was my fourth IM at Lake Placid. They have all been different – 2002 I crossed the finish line for the first time, so that will always be special. In 2004, I trained and raced with my “wife to be”, Candice. Even though she kicked my butt by 3...
Yesss, I met someone this past sunday that did the LP and he too said it was the most miserable IM (he's done 8)that he can remember--- good job man, I hope to follow in your footsteps come Nov-- rain or shine...hmmmm it's in AZ--- I will finish!!! Have a fantastic week!
Good luck with your triathlon plans. I've done some running races and am thinking about training for a tri next year. Probably sprint or Olympic distance rather than Ironman, though. That's very impressive.
Too late, I think I'm hooked. It was a rush!!. I need to get a bike though becuase I borrowed one for the tri last weekend... Take care. In Christ, Amilcar
You're on your way to reaching your goal! and WOW! about finishing 2 Ironmans. Maybe I'll get to do that one day. It would just be hard to find the time to train right now. Take care. In Christ, Amilcar
I don't think I would be material for that considering I have only done one sprint tri and they are looking for a more active triathlete I imagine. Thanks for thinking of me though!! :)
I did in fact...I really need to work on balancing out my physique...more mass in the upper body and tighten up the lower body. Also, my presentation needs work. No surprises!! I'm working on it :) Hope things are going well with you!
The shoulder is getting better every day. PT is rough, but we're making progress. I can run (slowly and only on a dreadmill), and I've been on my bike quite a bit, but no swimming for awhile yet.
