When I Started:
Jan, 2009
How I Started:
About 5 years ago I realized that I needed to get into shape. I also have three kids and want to show them that age does not = old! I started a cardio/lightweight program and lost 35lbs and was in decent shape, but still not tight. About 1 1/2 ago I met my boyfriend and like alot of us do, I got distracted and stopped working out regularly. I had surgery in May 2008 and have not done anything consistent until January when I started a strength training regimen at home. I am also doing circuit training with lighter weights. I want to get into the best shape of my life at 40. I want to be in even better shape than when I was in the military. I am 150% motivated and can't wait to transform my body into the body I SHOULD have always had!
Why I Love It:
I love working out because of the way it makes me feel and the changes in my body. When I lift weights I feel powerful. When I work out I have a better attitude, more energy, and my mind is sharper. I love the feeling of accomplishment every time I finish a workout, especially an intense one. I love being drenched in sweat. I love the way the weights feel in my hands. I love the way it looks when I work a muscle and I see it pop. I love it when i feel like I just can't give anymore...but then I do ;)
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking in the mirror ;).. Looking at other people's transformations and knowing that if they can do it, so can I. Seeing the appreciation in my boyfriend's eyes when he looks at me..and wanting it to stay that way ;)
BB Accomplishments:
None yet...unless you count just getting started and staying motivated despite the curveballs of life!

Love the burn!! No burn, no earn!
Right now I just want to strive to be consistent, continue learning and continue sculpting my body to be the best I have ever had:)
Goal (Long):
I simply want to be in the best shape of my life! I am in decent shape for my age and don't have alot of fat, so that is a good start. I want to build muscle and have a tight defined look all the time. I want to lose some body fat, but not all of it. I am a woman and want to maintain my curves. My toughest area is my abs, and the area I want to see defintion in the most. I already have nice biceps, decent triceps, forearms, quads & hamstrings...the glutes are coming along but still need help. I have small calves and would love to build them up. Really I need to tone up everywhere and can't wait to see the transformation!! :)
She juggles work, kids, husband and working out and still manages to inspire all of us with her transformation, her encouragement and motivation...oh and I LOVE her blogs!!!
Does anyone on here workout strictly with Kettlebells? How effective are kettlebells at shaping/building muscle? Sculpting the entire body? Burning fat? I am thinking about switching up and trying a kettlebell workout. I will still run/walk, bike or swim 5 days a week. Any advice...
I love Insanity.. its a GREAT cardio program. I'm also going to be doing P90X to add some muscle back that I've lost. So right now its a combination of a lot of things. If there is anything I can do to help I'd be happy too. I'm a mom of 4 and know what its like after babies
I like your new profuile pic! Nice calves! I just started really training mine...they stay sore a long time afterwards! Not a fan of the seated calf raises :-) Hope you are doing well! Keep up the good work!
yeah, well, my son has outgrown me, wears size 12 shoes and dates! Hes still a sweetheart though and it is nice to have some ME time that i didnt have in the past
Workouts are going great, like you I HAVE to stay focused more on the diet and telling myself no to some of the things I love to eat that I shouldn't. I am going to challenge myself to NO processed sugar at all for September, I know that will help. Hang in there, we'll get there :)
Thank you for the add. I hope you can drop me a line occasionally for encouragement. I will do the same for you. If that is OK with you? Going thru something with others is a great help. Thanks again and stay strong.
