I want to burn fat and build muscle. Not to the extent of being a "my neck is thicker than your stomach" guy, but just to get in better shape in general.
Goal (Long):
I want to lose all remaining fat around my midriff. In particular i have a little belly and love handles which have developed and i want them gone!! I also want to build muscle, with more emphasis on tone than muscle mass. I really want a sixpack.
As of today I am switching things around. Whereas i was focusing fully on reducing bodyfat, because it is now going into southern hemisphere winter i am going to take the next couple of months to bulk up and try pack on some muscle.
My biggest worry with bulking phases has always...
I alternate daily between arms and legs in the gym, taking Fridays and Sundays off. On Legs days i incorporate cardio (sprints on the treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical). Im aiming to make a core workout for my abs and thighs a regular part of my evenings at home.
And to gain size remember to eat! and more importantly rest, for example, if you dome biceps on monday then again on wednesday, you probably havnt allowed enough recovery time and instead of growing, your muscle will squeeze tighter and appear smaller. Recovery and food and the 2 most important parts of body building, well good luck!
Hey! hope your taining is going well! ok now to get down to bussiness, your back is your biggest muscle in you body, i mean come on? look at it. What i generally do is break it up into 3 parts. Upper back ( wide grip chins, wide grip and close grip lat pulldowns) middle back ( cable rows, dumbbell rows ) and lower back ( deadlifts ). Ofcorse there are many more back excersizes and it is sometimes smart to throw in a few bicep excersizes as you use ur bi's for alot of you back routines.
Good luck with your goals. I too have a problem with the midriff. I have the "beer belly" right now, but it's going away little by little. How are you doing?
