When I Started:
Feb, 2006
How I Started:
I shattered the entire bone in my elbow in a devestating dirtbiking accident 2 days before my 13th birthday. The break was severe enough that they had to cut open my arm (leaving a 12inch long 1 inch wide scar the entire way down my arm) and mould my bone together with a metal plate and 9 screws. Over a period of 6 months I had this plate in my arm, after which I had a surgery to remove it. I immediatley started rehabillitation which is how I started getting into weight lifting. Before I shattered my elbow, my max bench at the age of almost 13 was roughly 130 pounds. After, I topped out at about 85. It took me about 8 months to get back to 130, and now I am up to 190. My bone will never be as strong as it should be, but to make up for this, I take in roughly 200% DV of calcium a day and when doing resistance exersices such as bench presses and curls I take extra precaution in how much resistance to use. It is a significant injury, but I would never want it to hold me back.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling you get when your muscles are bulging and pumping. I enjoy the soreness you get when you wake up the next day. It makes me feel good knowing im actually doing shit in my freetime thats beneficial to my health instead of playing world of warcraft.
How I Stay Motivated:
I enjoy getting stronger.
