I started lifting with a few other friends from the neighborhood when I was about 15. One of them had a bench and plastic weights and we maxed out pretty often and I went from an initial bench max of like 60 lbs to 100 in a very short time and I was hooked. I was an ectomorhp then and I grew out of that in my mid 20's, but I didn't stick with lifting. It was an off and on thing until a couple of years ago when I was bad out of shape and gaining a little more fat than I was comfortable with. I came back and have lifted regularly for the last 3 years except for a 9 month break I took leading up to about December of 2006.
Why I Love It:
I enjoy the results you get from your efforts both in and out of the Gym. And everyone likes a compliment. You just get so much out of it, you can't help but love something that gives you back so much in return for what you give to it.
How I Stay Motivated:
My girlfriend complimenting my progress helps a lot!!!!
Watching the changes that I have brought about from the work I do in the Gym and in the Kitchen is a great motivator.
Also, compliments pump me up and get me excited and make me want to do more, bigger, better, so I can get more compliments.
Short term achievable goals are also key to staying motivated.

This was taken at the begining of the year when I decided to start doing something about the fat. I was 195 pounds here. No idea on the bodyfat %.
June 16, 2008, 16.3% bodyfat on the electronic scales at 159.9 pounds. Finally dot to go swimming in the pool for the first time this year!
I want to maintain my current lean mass if not gain some, however my primary goal at this point is to loose fat (currently 20.3%). By the time it is warm enough for less clothes, I would like to be able to see my abs!....... After that my goal will be to start gaining lean mass with as little fat gain as possible.
What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
I think the standard answer for someone like myself that is not attempting to get huge would be a Brad Pitt type body as far as leanness and definition. I would like to be a bit bigger though.

Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
I can't pick one bodybuilder because they are all very awesome. Much more than I could achieve.
Why I like this video: This guy is intense and doens't use "normal" gym equipment. I like to watch these videos before I go work out. It gets me motivated.

Well, it has only been a few days since my last post, but I have been lifting every morning still and this week I decided to go ahead and do my shoulder day, but to take it easy... well, sort of...
Shoulder day started with a light warm up then consisted of doing military presses...
I also get up at 4:30am to workout, but for me it's because that's the only time I can consistently exercise. (I have 2 super cute daughters I want to hang with after work) I actually look forward to it now, been doing it long enough to be used to getting up early. However, I generally fade & turn into a pumpkin by 8:30-9pm.
Todd, thx for your input on my blog. You look like you've made great progress cutting BF. Does it get stifling hot working out in your shed? BTW: You're about to join the > 40 crowd....think of all the compliments you'll get being > 40 and in shape. :-)
Hey Baby,
Just wanted to tell you that you look awesome! Way to go on all the progress you have made so far and all the knowledge you have gained. I know you will reach your goals! I LOVE YOU!

You just wait and see....I'll have some new pics up here pretty soon! ;) By the way....YOURE HOTT! ~6
Hey Todd how's it going. Hope you had a good Christmas and New Year. Is the shed still standing? I'm assuming you're out there at least 6 times a week!
Haha. Lately I've turned into a real cluts with those for some reason. I'm tripping up every time I try them now! Grrr! I shot a small video with my camera today skipping that I want to try and put on here. I just need to try and figure that part of it out. Real techno wiz over here! lol
I love those videos too!!! Floyd Mayweather and the Ross training site.
I love the skipping and use it as my main form of cardio now. That and the heavy bag. I haven't quite got the double cross overs perfected yet though. I can't seem to get past 3 or 4 times and then I trip up. I like to skip at the end of a heavy weight work out when the timing and rhythum is all off and it forces you to get it together.
