Been working it since I signed up to BodySpace and have been on a good downward slide since then, despite illnesses etc. Had some false-starts before then. Good motivation tracking your weight in public!
Why I Love It:
Weights make me hurt so good - and I'm allergic to cardio classes.
How I Stay Motivated:
I've given up the scales and knuckled down to work harder, eat smarter, and show those damned scales that I'm better then they are! -- I take some inspiration from Vulcana, a Victorian-age lady who was one of the original 'strongwomen' and often out-lifted men. Imagine the guts it took during the Victorian age to be strong and independent? I can do this!
BB Accomplishments:
I've made it all the way through a TaeBo DVD - yay for me! And I now own a set of plates, barbell and dumbbells. I can torture myself with squats at home!

GOAL: leather bikini, sheepskin boots, horned hat, good arms, legs and shoulders, fake tan, the Ride of the Valkyries playing in the background, lifting small cars for fun... like some nutty Norse Goddess!

Steady progress in losing BF... no love at all from the scales.

getting smaller - enthused to get more serious with it all now
I think my BF% was at least Heavy Cream if not Double Cream (35-40%F) to begin with... I'm now Light Cream (18-30%F) and wanting to get to Halfn'Half Cream (12-18%F) before I rethink my goals.

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I do grunt when I have to. Its scary, but sometimes you have to push past 'pretty'.

What type of outfit do you usually wear when you workout? Why?
Yoga pants and tank, both black and in a sweat-wicking fabric. Sure its tight over most of me, but that gives me to opportunity to see my own shape change, and hopefully tempt someone who's about to give up to leave the cardio room and try out the weights room - its not just for the boys.Yoga pants and tank, both black and in a sweat-wicking fabric. I have had the opportunity of moving to a first floor office - and I took it. So the past two days have been shlepping boxes of books and files up two flights of stairs. Feel the burn, baby! I'm sure my thighs have lost at least one layer of whale-blubber, and my butt too! Now every day at...
Trying on the Scivation workout program - though I can't do their diet... and I'm using my home gym so I don't have access to some equip.

No problem I really enjoy helping and encouraging others. If you're interested I started my workout tracker complete with daily food intake so anyone interested can see how I prepare for my Oct 4th contest. Check it out if you get a sec.
Oh, wait a second...you live down under...so it's winter time there...duh on my part! It's summer here in the states...LOL..now I understand why you are sick - either way, hope you are feeling better :)
Oh, bummer! Hope you are feeling strong enough to kick the iron's butt! Did you have a cold or what? Being sick sucks, especially in the summer! Get better, girl!
Oh dear...make sure you get enough rest. My best friend has type 1 diabetes...I know how difficult it is to keep the sugars in line around the workouts.
Tish, I worked my butt off this weekend...I have now decided to switch my routine around a bit. I'm finding myself to be really tired during the week (work is hammering me to death). So now, I will be lifting on Sat. and Sundays, Wed and Fridays. Cardio will be done on Monday and Tuesday. Abs (as always) are done every other day. Still eating clean :)
Hey Tish,
Things are going well. It's lunch time right now...just chowing down on some chicken, brown rice and a huge salad...yum. Hope you are having a wonderful day!
